Start right now. Don’t pay any attention to people telling you there is no such thing as a pom-chi. It’s a pom-chi if it’s mixed. Call it what you want.
I’m all for crating. Take your baby out as soon as you get home, praise it when it ‘goes’, then bring it in, play, let her romp, and if you notice her getting into the potty position, immediately put her on a leash, walk her to the door, and let her ‘go’ outside. Praise, praise Praise her when she goes outside. The reason I say put her on a leash and walk her to the door is because if you pick her up and take her out, she will not understand to go to the door on her own when she needs to go.
My baby girl (Chihuahua) has 3 puppies right now, 3-1/2 weeks old, and I am already starting to potty train them. They have no teeth, are of course still nursing and far from being weened, but they are now romping and playing, and also going potty! I have a slip leashes, since they are too tiny for a collar, and keep them close at hand. When I see a puppy starting to get in the potty position, I slip on the leash, walk (sort of 1/2 way drag) them to the door, let them go outside. It takes them a little while to ‘go’ outside, since I interrupted them, but the do eventually go. Then they get PRAISED and walked/dragged inside. When I say drag, I don’t mean drag in a bad way. They are little and clumsy and often topple over. I just let them get back on their feet, and tug the leash. It takes patience, but it’s worth it.

Best wishes with your little puppy. I don’t like puppy mills and have reservations about backyard breeders, but I’m not a dog snob either. Reputable breeders are all fine and good, but there are lovely NON purebred puppies that will give you so much joy.

    You can start now.

You should begin right now. if you don’t start them from a young age, they’ll never learn. make sure every time your pet goes outside you give her a treat. after a while you wont need to give her any.

as soon as you bring home
sounds like you are going to have problems breaking if you are not there to let out every hour.

There is NO such thing as a POM-CHI, it’s a Pomeranian/Chihuahua mix. I do hope that you adopted this dog from a shelter/rescue, and didn’t support a backyard greeder or pet store/puppy mill.

Should have done some research before getting a pup.
