He’s only ever growled once before at his brother over food.
he’s never growled at me and i’m not happy, i thought he had more respect.
I fed both of them last night some whiska’s beef in gravy, but they were refusing to eat it.
As it was the only cat food i could, they had to have it but were refusin and cryin and followin me round.
I thought once they realised there wasn’t any other choice if they were hungry enough they’d eat the whiska’s eventually.
I got a kebab for my tea, and da cats were beggin for the doner meat, trying to crawl up my legs to get to the smell
(I hate it when they wont eat their own food but want yours)
I threw some of the dry doner meat away when i’d finished and just before bed i heard one of them choking!!
I walked up to him in the kitchen and he ran and growled like a dog at me..i could see he had something in his mouth and i was worried. it was a huge piece of doner meat and he couldnt chew it, i had to pin him down to get it out!!..why?

Have your vet check the cat - we had a cat who wouldn’t eat the cat food suddenly and became aggressive with stolen food, turned out she had diabetes.

It sounds like he was just being territorial. Its their instinct, it doesnt mean that they dont respect you or anything, He just must have felt that he had to protect what he had. My cat is always growling, he is grumpy.

mabey he thought u gave him that hoping he would choke and it got half way down his neck and got stuck so he thought he was diying and the last thing he wanted to do was growl at u.
Possibility, i guess.

I think this one’s pretty easy to answer.
Like it or not - the one thing a cat concerns itself about more than anything is it’s stomach.
All that happened is that you came between your cat and it’s food - you were trying to take it away.
My cats very rarely catches birds or mice but, when they do they like to bring them home to show me (happily they are always still alive). I take them away from the cats and let them go and you wouldn’t believe how cross the cats get - they growl at me when I take them. It’s natural instinct - 2 minutes later we’re all the best of friends again.
Don’t worry about it - your cat still loves you just as much as it always did.

My cat growls at me too. She also hits me with her paws, fortunately though not with her claws. It could be that your cat was angry with you for not giving him something else to eat. Cats after all believe that humans exist only to cater to their cats every whim. They have never gotten over being worshiped as gods once.My cat on the other hand is a crank. : )

When a cat growls, it is just a sign that they are mad about something. My cat growls at me all the time, and she has bit me, but I know she is jealous of my other cats, and she is telling me she is not happy. I love her just as much as the other 2. They need to express their feelings somehow.
