You can get cat repellant spray from pet shops. I don’t find them very effective but different brands may work better. They smell awful to the cat but Humans can’t smell it.

Also, I read somewhere that cats hate the feel of bubble wrap. If your cat is left at home with access to the bed while you’re out, put a layer of bubble wrap over the top.

One last thing, you could try using a citrus perfume or cleaner. Cats hate citrus.

Keep a spray bottle of plain water near the bed and spritz him any time he jumps on the bed.

    Simple:

    Get rid of the cat

    or

    Get rid of the bed.

Keep a spray bottle of water by your bed and spray the cat when it jumps up.

Put a dog on the bed.

Have a squirt bottle beside your bed and when he does it squirt him he will learn after a bit.

P.S he is doing it because he loves you and wants attention, or that is what my mom says anyway

Unless you keep the cat in a cage at night, you’ll probably have to live with it. If the cat is cool with the cage, great. If not, it would probably be cruel.

I have never had a cat who didn’t want to sleep with me at night. It would probably be a better approach to accept it. This is part of having a cat.

does he have a bed for him/herself? make a bed for it
    or
tie him up and tell it not to go on your bed
put it on a leash or something like that =P

some thing that worked for me was like hide something noise that she dosnt likem like a easy botton(i love toose my teacher has one) or something thats easy to set the sound off thats LOUD, and hide it under a very thin blanket on her favorite place lay, and she will be scared and not get on there, it worked for us to keep the cat off the table!

I had one that did the same thing, I just kept tossing her off and making a loud noise when she came up. I hated doing it, but she quit coming up after a while. Figured she didn’t want to be tossed anymore.

put him on the bed with you when you go to sleep

You get a type of scent that humans cant smell but cats HATE it. I cant remember the name. They use it mostly to spray on furniture to prevent the cats from scratching it. A vet or petstore should be able to assit you, just go ask.

You cant try spraying it on the bed!

Also what you can try is setting up a corner with a seperate cat bed, or blankets for him to sleep on. Add little catnip sacks all over it, but not so that he can carry it around. It should attrackt him to his own sleeping quarters and keep him there! Just a though!

I have been living with cats for 39 years and have never found a way to stop any of my various and furry friends from getting on my bed. the cat is lonely and seeks attention and does not have a watch. good luck and the cat may change its way at some time in future, but don’t count on that. give the cat a few pets and roll over and go back to sleep.

Why did you get a cat in the first place?

I got mine for cuddling purposes– it’s really one of his only redeeming qualities– other than that, he eats, sleeps and poops- and watching him do those things doesn’t excite me.

No ideas, just let the cat sleep with you.
