Getting The Best Dog Bed
If you own a dog, especially an older one, getting a good dog bed is a really great gift to give your beloved pet. The need a good place to rest and sleep just like us. After all, you wouldn't want to bed down in an uncomfortable mattress or sleep on a hard surface all night.
Sleeping on the floor or even on a bad or uneven bed isn't the best thing for a dog to do. As they get older it becomes even more important that they have a really good dog bed to sleep in.
The other reason to get a dog bed is, of course, to keep them off of yours or off of the best couch in the house. If you don't want them all over your furniture, get them a comfortable bed of their own that they will love and use for a long time.
From the simplest dog beds to the more elaborate types, there are many to choose from. Some are more or less like large bean bags, some are donuts or round pet beds. There are also bolster dog beds, which have sort of a pillow going all around the outer edge of the bed. Dogs like to use this as a pillow for their head while they sleep. Then there is the orthopedic dog bed and memory foam beds, which are among the best you can get.
There are also outdoor dog beds which are made for outdoor areas like the back porch and there are also heated dog beds. These are great for dogs, especially during the cold winter months. Even when you have the heat in the house cranked up, the floor can sometimes stay cold and it's not good for your dogs bones and joints. A heated dog bed will keep your canine pal comfy and warm the whole time like a warm blanket.
Another option you may want to look into is getting a waterproof dog bed. We have all taken our dog out for a walk when it is raining and wet outside. Whether we want to or not, we have to go out on those miserable days when the rain is pouring and we both get soaked. After a good towel dry, dogs still have some moisture left on their coat and skin. The nice part about a waterproof dog bed is that your dog can lay on this type of pet bed without getting it soaked on the inside where the water stays put. These beds are made for this so they do not get ruined every time your water soaked pooch rests on them. For those dogs that prefer to stay out on the porch or outside near their kennel or dog house, they are much happier on a waterproof bed than a conventional one that soaks up the water. It's not only a comfortable resting spot for sleeping and lying down, but it will last longer too.
Not all dog beds are the same just as not all dogs age the same. When your dog gets older, he or she will most likely develop the same types of aches and pains due to joint problems that humans do. When your dog starts to slow down due to joint pain, inflammation and arthritis, the best thing you can do is to look into getting them a memory foam dog bed.
As soon as your are aware that you dog is suffering from orthopedic issues, the floor is simply not a good place for them to sleep. Even a conventional dog bed just will not do. The even balance of a dog's weight is more important at this stage of their life than at any time before. A bumpy or uneven bed is not good for the existing joint pain and can actually worsen the dog's problems over time.

Well, it means you don’t feel safe. Do you have a dog, and a gun? nothing makes me sleep more soundly than having a .45 under my pillow.

To dream that your house is broken into, suggests that you are feeling violated. It may refer to a particular relationship or current situation in your life. Alternatively, it indicates that some unconscious material is attempting to make itself known. There are some aspects of yourself that you have denied. To dream that a house has disappeared, indicates that you are not feeling grounded. You feel uprooted by a particular circumstance or relationship in your life.

you should buy a gun and you’ll sleep better

your dream reflects your deep psychological fears. it might be a better idea to seek some counselling instead of buying a gun.

If your dream is reoccurring then it seems likely that, in real-life your conscious state) you are internalizing stimuli (people, places, things, sensations, fragrances, and the like) that is confusing and/or upsetting to you. At a minimum, you are regularly faced with situations you find uncomfortable.
These situations (in whole or in part) get "pushed down" into your unconscious (possibly because you do not want to confront them in real-life or possibly because you don’t fully "realize" them in real-life). Your unconscious then takes these stored bits and pieces of the thousands of stimuli encountered every day and, via your dreams, attempts to get your attention (alert you) about something that seems to be troubling you.
For example, although your dream has you "home alone in your house" your dream may not actually mean "your house" in the true physical sense of your house. Your dream can simply be using your house as a metaphor for "you." That is, your house represents you … who you are, what you believe and stand for ….
As such, when alone (anywhere in your waking hours) you may feel particularly vulnerable to people (not necessarily total strangers) "breaking into" who you are … wanting to know more about you than you are comfortable sharing … wanting to know what makes you tick … wanting to know if you are the same person outside your home as you are behind closed doors.
In short, your dream may be alerting you to the idea of your level of discomfort in a relationship, at the workplace, the restaurant and bar you may visit, public transportation, etc. It can be as random as feeling a sense of danger because you are out in public and "exposed" to any possibility or it can be as deeply personal as the person in your relationship(s) wanting to "get beneath the surface" to know you better.
Whatever it truly is, I believe, the clues are found in your comings and goings over the recent past. As such, a reflection on the recent past may provide you the circumstances (people, places, and things) that allow you a pathway to a better understanding of your dreams.
Because you are "able to make it to my car and drive away very fast and get away" in your dreams, your unconscious is telling you that so far, in your waking hours, you are "swift in mind and body" in responding to any perceived danger and, at least for now, you can avoid any potential dangers from someone breaking in (to you, not your physical house). Based on that, I’d guess you are adept and skilled at deferring people’s curiosity about you or their attempts to persuade you to do things that you’d prefer not doing. As skilled as you seem to be at this, your unconscious is telling you that you’re not comfortable with it.
The trouble with the 911 call is, in my view, your dream-state alerting you to the idea that there "isn’t anyone out there" in your waking hours that will come to your rescue. Your conscious mind is telling you that you don’t trust that, when push comes to shove, there would be anyone (let alone anyone in authority) who would come to help you. As such, you strengthen your resolve to be ever more determined to take care of yourself.
I really believe that, with some time spent on considering the circumstances of your life, you’ll soon be able to identify the links from real-lfe that end up engages your dream-life.
Good luck!
