    Hey there,
    I can help you!
From your description, yes, it’s tapeworms. Actually, what you are seeing isn’t the whole worm, but segments of a worm. Inside those are eggs! Tapeworms come from your dog eating a flea, so the prevention is flea prevention. Frontline Plus works, as does Revolution.

Many dewormers do not cover for tapeworms. We use Cestex or Drontal at the vet hospital where I work. Hopefully you have a vet that you can call. If you describe the tapes, and if you’ve been good about keeping your pet’s vaccines, parasite fecal exams, etc, on time, then they’ll just get the pills ready for you to come and pick up.

Quite often, when we perform a fecal exam, we won’t be able to find tapeworms on the slide that we are looking at under the microscope. So when a client calls and describes what you are, then we just give them the meds. Since it’s prescription, though, the vet has to have an ongoing relationship with your pet.

So it seems that your pet is dealing with fleas, whether you are seeing them or not. Just wash all bedding and keep your dog’s back end cleaned up.

Good luck. Oh, if you find meds for tapes, you don’t have to wait Make sure you trust what you are giving your dog, though. I never buy otc meds for dogs –always get them from the vet, since he knows better than store clerks how to dose it out.

if they’re not moving and you just wormed her then the dead ones might be falling out.

    but yeah, vet asap.

You need to take the dog to the vet to figure out what’s going on, worming meds can be very damaging to the stomach lining, and you do not want to give them too close together or as a "precaution".

Please contact your vet and see what they have to say about this…

And… sorry, reading this really grossed me out… don’t let the dog sleep in your bed again until this is resolved..
