I am looking for a dog as a PET ONLY. I don’t really care about pure breeds… this dog will be sleeping in my bed with my wife and I and maybe someday our son or daughter. I want a small to medium sized dog preferable short hair or a long hair that doesn’t shed much. I do plan on having kids so what ever breed it is it MUST be good with kids. I hear Mastiffs are great with kids but are a bit bigger then I want haha. Again this will be an inside dog and the wife absolutely doesn’t want a dog that sheds a lot! Also just to make animal lovers feel better I do have a yard
I was planning on doing that actually Animallover! But my problem is that I LOVE dogs. I am the kind of person that will go there and wont be able to pick just one especially knowing the possible future of the dogs I don’t choose… It’s really hard for me to go there and leave haha
Looking for a pet dog, need some advice?

Why not go to the animal shelter? You don’t mind about pure breeds, and it’s likely that you’ll find a kid-friendly dog there. Dogs can tell when someone is helping them or saving their lives, I’m sure you can find the perfect dog there. If not, terriers from what I here, though there are many exceptions, aren’t so great with kids and bark a lot. There are a lot of medium sized dogs that are amazing with kids. For example I’m a kid, and my family owns an English Springer Spaniel. Their breed are naturally good with kids, and they’re not too big either.
Of course there are many other, why not check around a few dog websites like the AKC or dogbreedinfo? They have all the registered dogs in America and then you can look up their temperaments and such. Anyway, however much, or little, this helped, good luck with finding a good dog! ^^

I would go to your local animal shelter and pick out a dog that fits your lifestyle best. You can go there and play with the dogs ans see which one you connect with best
And you save a life

Any type of Hound dog at the pound, I have hound pups now that are mutt-hounds… Best dang companion ever… Good with kids, cats, other dogs, but protective of kids and family… GO TO THE POUND.
