I had a cat that peed on my bed for about a year, I tried everything(feliway, serene-um, etc)and I couldn’t fix it, I had to give it away
It was very painful for me, I’ve always been a pet person. That cat is ok and happy but now I would like to have another pet. I’m horrified of getting another cat, I’d die if it start peeing as the one I had before.
A dog would be a ’safer’ choice?
New pet after one that used to pee on my bed?

a dog would be ’safer’ in the fact that he probably wouldn’t pee on your bed. however, during his life, he will poop in your closet, and eat your most expensive pair of shoes and vomit on your new carpet. dogs are a joy, but very high mantainence compared to cats.
Also, i could be wrong, but i’m willing to bet if you still have the same matress, the hint of cat pee is still inside and will entice a new kitty to mark his territory.

a dog is friendly, but if you get a puppy and its not trained to use the bathroom, then you might have a problem, you could always look at your local animal shelter and see if they have the dog, or cat thats right for you, i know i am also an animal person, so i would go to an animal shelter and see what they have and you even get to interact with them, if you like them, then take them home, and poof, new animal love.

dogs has to be trained so they peee outside

if you get another pet and it smells the pee from the first one it too will pee there. a dog is easier to train. i have found that if a cat doesn’t feel like being trained it just simply won’t be

Shop around. Cats are very different.

No, don’t get a dog if you’re used to a cat. Dogs take much more time and effort, and expense, to own, and you can’t always control them anyway. And it’s much more aggravation to have a dog, too. Get rid of the old bed, and get a new cat.

I think your original cat had some serious issues. Pets are alot like people, they have emotions and feelings and much like children they are unable to express their emotions and often act them out in negative ways. Or perhaps there was something physically wrong with him/her.
As far as a new pet…do you still continue to use the old mattress? The scent of the old cat might be upsetting to a new cat and cause the same problem (however ALL cats are different this doesn’t mean a new cat WILL do the same thing)
If you’ve gotten a new mattress i doubt highly that you will have the same problem. If for some reason you do, you need to consider whats going on in your household that could be causing the problem
Hope this helps!

Hm… I guess you could teach it. I would advise a pad or thick newpaper.( Or several newspapers) Teach the dog to go outside.
Try to teach it to be potty trained. Read a book about dog caring.
I would advise you to get a girl so that it wouldn’t mark territory and now and then.
