New pet after one that used to pee on my bed?

Posted October 4th, 2009 by admin

I had a cat that peed on my bed for about a year, I tried everything(feliway, serene-um, etc)and I couldn’t fix it, I had to give it away :( It was very painful for me, I’ve always been a pet person. That cat is ok and happy but now I would like to have another pet. I’m horrified of getting another cat, I’d die if it start peeing as the one I had before.
A dog would be a ‘safer’ choice?
Tx to all of u for answering. I’ve got rid of a lot of things she’s peed on, this was a new mattress and i just put chlorine on it.Now it’s been like 2 months since that happenned, do u think the spray or other enzimatic product would still be l effective?

i had a cat that had a chronic bladder infection so he peed on everything, I had to give him up.
For about 5 months once or twice a month I cleaned the areas he went and put cat pee spray on them. I’ve now had another cat for a year and a half with no problems.

So either choice of animal would work, just clean the areas very well first.

a dog would be worse, if you like cats you should consider getting a kitten but get it fixed immediately
if you still have the same mattress you should consider whiping it down with some stain and odor removers that you can purchase at a pet store like petco or whatever after that if you do end up getting a kitten, it wont be able to smell the urine and since it will be fixed you wont have that problem anymore

Did you get a new bedspread because if you didn’t you might want to before getting a new cat or kitten. And yes if u like animals you should get a new pet cat or dog there both great companions.
