does my dogs fur act as warmth for him….like a jacket does for me?
second question….if i place a heating pad under my dogs bed to warm it up to keep him a little warm at night…is that ok?? i accidently left it on me all night last night..and it was fine
he is a 9 pound little yorkie with short to medium hair

Yes, you dog has a "built in" fur coat. Also, the dog does not need to be on a heating pad. I’m sure you keep your home at a comfortable temperature. The only thing that you are doing is drying out the dogs coat.

yes there fur keeps them warm and you giving a pad just helps a little wont hurt the dog.

You really need to give more details about your dog, but yes, their fur keeps them warm. And the average dog doesn’t need a heating pad to keep them warm at night as long as they have a bed to sleep on that keeps them off the floor.
Unless you have an old or sick dog, dogs really don’t need the extra heat. For example, I have an 11 year old greyhound (very lean, thin coat) and now that he’s old, he gets cold at night so he gets covered with a thin blanket, but he’s never needed it before this winter.
