I bought a dog box for 00 from an out of state business. Because he was unable to meet the deadline for the shipping of the box, I wanted to cancel the order. He admitted that he did a poor job and refunded me 0. He pressed upon me that I will love the box and if for any reason I don’t like the box he would refund the remaining 00 as well as pay for the return shipping and handling. Because of many discrepancies I told him that I did not want the box and would like my refund and for him to pay for the return of the box. On May 22, 2009 he agreed to refund my 00 and pay for the shipping. Well, he never refunded my money, nor did he pay for the return of the box (large insulated aluminum create for large dogs for the bed of a pickup). I have created a dispute with my credit card company, and they have already refunded me my 00. As of today, it’s roughly 75 days, since that May 22nd email and I’m still in possession of the box. Can I charge the vendor storage and security fees and if yes, does anyone know how much? Oh, my resident is in Texas.

Your credit card company has forwarded you money, but technically there is no settlement with the vendor who sold you the merchandise as yet. The dispute is still open, so you are required to safely store and maintain the merchandise. Failure to do so may eventually result in a negative consequences for you.

I am amazed that your credit card company has been so generous with you. Don’t push your luck by playing games at this point. You have recovered $2,800, but if the merchandise gets damaged then your credit card company may REINSTATE the charges on your account.
