2 year old boxer/English mastiff mix. We just adopted him about a month ago. He is a gentle giant, and has never, up to this point done anything remotely similar to this. He is house trained and hasn’t marked in the house. We have another dog, that is elderly and can’t get on the bed. [...]

Why do people think that they are a dangerous dog breed. I can say it isnt because of their large size because look at the st. brenard and the bull mastiff they both are nice dogs. but y do people label the cane corso as a mean and dangerous dog?

I adopted a 3 year old mastiff X from the pound 2 years ago, and have absolutely treated her as a child. There are no leadership issues at all, I am the master, she knows this and respects me, but she’s my baby. She was my moving out of home present, so she represents my [...]

I have a one year old American Bandogge Mastiff pup, male, neutered who has a mild to moderate dandruff problem. I feed him only high quality dog food and his coat sometimes feels a little oily, but is very shiny and soft, but is less-so on his hind-end where the majority of the dandruff generates [...]

which breed of dog would you believe that it would make the best guard dog of the home? tibetan mastiff am planning to buy these …any idea about this dog?

I have viewed many sites and the number one guard dog that keeps coming up is the Bull Mastiff. Why? I think about the Cane Corso for example. The Fila and even the Rottie. Why are the Bull Mastiff’s so highly rates. Do you own a Bull Mastiff. Do you consider them to be great [...]

My 3 year old mastiff "Bella" hurt her leg the other day. After the vet’s x-rays came back we discovered that not only had she torn her ACL in her right knee, but that she has severe hip dysplasia in her left hip. The best we can figure, she had relied on her right leg [...]

Or he might be a mini doberman pinscher. Anyway we are dog sitting since his owner will be in hospital for a few weeks. He’s understandably nervous around my dogs (2 pugs & a mastiff), though they seem to be getting along okay. Except he keeps whining/barking with anxiety. What can I do??

my neighbor has a 3 year old mastiff. i saw her limping today so i checked her out. after looking her over i think this may be hip dysplasia. she has a little hair loss on her back about an inch from her tail. is this common?

how can I make my dog less afraid of things? She is terrified of new things, even objects like pumpkins or lawn chairs, if she hasn’t seen them before. I took her out on Halloween night and she was scared of the masks and large costumes, even if it was just a little kid wearing [...]

We have almost 2 acres and I was wondering if its alright to leave 2 doberman’s to watch the backyard and a pit/mastiff and a great dane to watch the front. Is that okay? or should I just let them go wherever they want. Im afraid to let the pit/mastiff in the backyard because he [...]
