I have a 4 month old golden retriever and he is the most energetic dog I have ever met. Everytime I go outside he jumps on me and scratches me. He has taught my other dog to do the same thing. What do I do?

When in our bed, our cocker spaniel scratches"roots" at the covers and sheets until he decides to settle down and stay in one spot. Why does he do this?

What is a good dog bed to buy?

November 27th, 2010

I really need a good bed for my rat terrier. She scratches the couch and the last dog bed she had had rough sheep-skin on the inside, and she tore it up. I’m looking for a tough, reliable, yet comfortable bed that will pull through. Thanks for your attributions!

She sleeps at the top of the bed with me, but before she’ll lie down, she scratches the bed with her paw a few times. What’s a possible reason for this? I’m just curious, and I think it’s rather cute. Thanks!

Let’s here your stories! Here is mine: My shih tzu Lucy is so spoiled she has trained ME. When she is fully of capable of jumping on the bed she cries until I pick her up. When I am petting her then stop she scratches at me ..sometimes really hard until I start petting her [...]

Anxiety may not be the right word here. I have a 7 year old Shiba Inu. He is a great dog, but has strange crazy fits sometimes. Normally he is fine at home with our other dog and 2 cats when we leave. When he was little he would stay under the couch while we [...]

I got rid of my dog’s last tick and he hasn’t had any fleas or ticks for a while. But he still scratching in the same place where all the fleas were. Is it becuase the bumps that the fleas left is making him itch? or maybe their microscopic? I have been pushing his fur [...]

I have tried many things, including changing her bedding. It saddens me to see her scratch all the time. I have wanted to put medicine to rid her of mites, but I’m not sure that’s what she has… plus she doesn’t want to be touched because she’s sore. I put medication on her to heal [...]

2 hours after applying cheap ass flea and tick guard: My previous question was regarding my dog acting very very weird. He’s been scratching the same spot over and over again. My dad bought some cheap "Sergeant’s Silver Flea & Tick Squeeze-On For Dogs" I asked him to specifically buy Front Line Plus. Because it’s [...]

The flooring looks like it has been sanded but I think it is from not ever sweeping and walking around with dirt and possibly kitty litter scattered. Also there is very bad scratches from moving furniture and a bed placed on floor without using a pad under. The house was filthy and found cigarette buds [...]

We recently got our dog and we tried training right. My oldest brother who bought the dog works at the pet store we got it from. So he tried training it the way he learned. But our pup is about 2 and a half months old and pee’s everywhere. He has no problem with poop, [...]

When I was younger, I was told by so many adults that it is wrong and inhumane to swat a dog on the nose or even spank his rear end if he/she is really misbehaving. I was also told time and time again that this method of discipline is also ineffective. So being young and [...]
