What can I do for an itchy pet mouse?

Posted August 31st, 2010 by admin

I have tried many things, including changing her bedding. It saddens me to see her scratch all the time. I have wanted to put medicine to rid her of mites, but I’m not sure that’s what she has… plus she doesn’t want to be touched because she’s sore. I put medication on her to heal her scratches. She didn’t like it, but she seemed to feel better. I’m afraid mite medication might sting if I try it right now. What do you suggest?

I know it could be sad and you have done a good job trying but the best thing to do is take her to an exotic animal vet. He/She will check out your mouse and see if it has anything. Than they might prescribe medicine or something else. Just keep a close eye if it starts loosing hair or its nose is discolored or anything get to an EXOTIC animal vet ASAP and you should bring her there for the itching too. Good luck hope all goes well :D
