In a poll asked at Downeastdognews.com it was found that:
60% dogs slept in owner’s bed
28% in a dog Bed
6% on the floor
4% on the couch or Chair

I think the results are very encouraging! When a cat or dog loves you, & you love them–you know how important it is for them to be close. My life has become rather unstructured, but when I had a "regular" time to go to bed, if I went past it, my feline companion would come into my office & say: "Ne-OW!" a few times, & then, stoic that she is, patiently wait curled in a cat bundle on a cushioned stool behind me. She has stopped telling me NOW. I often don’t go to bed until about 1a or so. But as soon as she sees the first signs: Close the windows, turn off lights, she follows me around & even sits & watches me while I brush my teeth. I put her moist supper, & fresh water on a tray on the Queen sized bed. As soon as I’ve gotten into bed, she "chats" a bit & then pretends she doesn’t know how to lift the covers herself, (it’s all a game), so I lift them for her. From there, it’s contented little squeaks & purrs from a little round "lump" nestled in my lap. I can’t even imagine her not sleeping with me. I actually broke up with someone who didn’t believe dogs or cats belonged in the house, & put their sad little dog in the garage at night.
This kitty would NEVER tell me to do anything! If she wants more cereal, she just sits quietly on the counter. I’ll get this "feeling" & look up & she’s staring at me. I KNOW this is mental telepathy!

My dog slept outside, our dogs, cats, and other pets like that, are only aloud in the house when they have to be in the house.

mine sleep on my bed,my 3 dogs wont sleep any where else,when i go to bed i say bed time to my boys and they follow me upstairs

Wherever my babies want! heh… They each have their own bed, but if they want to sleep with me on the bed then thats where they go
And it usually is where my oldest sleeps, right by my side or sometimes she even sleeps between my shoulder and head heh.
I have 2 chihuhaus.. .My oldest one, i’ve had almost all my life, and yeah, when im up to late working she sits up in my bed and stares at me until i come and lay with her LOL

Well I have five dogs. Two sleep in a nack room on a two seat sofa. Two sleep in the kitchen floor, and the last ones sleeps in a crate set up in the kitchen.
I also have four cats. One sleeps in a den/storage room, and the other three sleep in our master bedroom in a kingsize bed.

My two GSDs sleep outside our bedroom at night. The each have their own rug they sleep on. They go to bed when we do…
The cat sleeps in our bathroom away from the dogs and she wonders around our room at night.
No animals in our bed.

Our dog sleeps in a cage in our bedroom. That way he won’t pee on everything when we’re sleeping. He likes it though, he has his blankets and bed in there.

My dog sleeps in his crate – it is his favorite place to go. I just say "time for bed" and he runs into our room and into the crate. No dogs on our bed! Eventually I hope to let him sleep in a dog bed or in the crate with the door off, but he is still in the puppy chewing stage, so he can’t be trusted to roam the house yet.

I have 3 dogs. One sleeps on my husbands pillow in the warm months.(she’s only 10 lbs) in the winter she sleeps under the top cover. She gets very excited at about 9…she starts edging her way down the hall towards the bedroom. The other 2 sleep in crates at night. We have tried to let them stay out of their crates at night but they are a little bit bad!! LOL

I have three small dogs and they sleep in the bed with me…also I am fostering a chihuahua for the local animal shelter and he as well sleeps in my bed…Come to think of it…the dogs go almost everywhere I go!!
My parrot however sleeps in his cage outside dependiong on the weather…he loves it out there and gets rather loud and angry if I make him come in lol!

My dog Lola, sleeps anywhere, except the bed!! She sleeps mostly during the day and up all night very odd I would say, but she makes a good lap buddy. That’s my dog for you!!! Got to love her!!

YESSSSSSSSS, very surprised by these results , especially about the snake under the bed oooooooooooh , CAN’T EVEN IMAGINE THE THOUGHTS OF SOMEONE WANTING ONE EVEN IN THEIR HOME MUCH LESS UNDER THEIR BED OR EVEN IN THEIR HOME, where there is small children there and could be and get bit , God helps all if we don’t LOVE OUR CHILDREN OR OURSELFS ENOUGH TO WANT TO NOT HAVE SOMETHING POISINOUS IN OUR HOMES ANYMORE. MY PET SLEEPS IN OUR DAUGHTERS ROOM AND ITS A DOG. THANK GOD.

We raise dogs, so we have 13 dogs and they all sleep in the house some were.. and they are not small dogs they are 80 pound dogs..
We have a 4 bedroom house and then we have 6 crates.. 6 dogs go in crates, 2 go into my room, 2 go in my parents room, 1 go into my brothers room and 2 stay in the living room..
Most of our dogs stay on their own beds, but sometimes they sneak up to the bed.. haha.. Sometime i wake up and have a dog at my head..
All of our dogs are SPOILED!!

My cat used to sleep right on top of me, but that kept me up at night, so we got him a soft cat bed that I keep on the bed at the very end. Tiger loves being on the bed, and I get to sleep.

My cats sleep on the bed (by my feet), and our parrot sleeps in her cage on her perch. She is not allowed out unless supervised, because she chews on a lot of stuff.

Our dog sleeps in bed with us. She really likes sleeping on my husband’s pillow. She is getting old and has arthritis in her hips and we have to pick her up and put her on the bed. If we don’t, she will put her head on the bed and grunt at us until we do. She uses her bed as a "daybed".

both my horses sleep outside with the option of a run- in shelter. my dog sleeps on a very cozy dog bed, but i wish she could sleep in my bed- she is very cuddly and cozy. she is a lap- dog at heart, but in the flesh she is a golden retriever!

well poly as you know lola only comes to see me in the morning so you have the joy of her snoring at night! do all dogs snore as bad as her!
