because it has your scent on it. it makes them feel comfortable and safe while they are sleeping.
if you want them to sleep in their own bed, then put an old t-shirt in there. maybe that would help

    Because it smells like you

Same reason you’d rather sleep in your bed than theirs. It’s more comfortable.

because they love you and the smell of you (wether its clean or not) is comforting to a dog

Your smell is familiar to them. Your smell is not on there dog bed. Its there way of feeling close to you even if your not there.

I think it is because Dogs rely on smell first. If you are not close, They find comfort in things that smell like you.

The dog is seeking the smell of their owner. When you aren’t there, they will sleep in the clothes pile for your scent. In your bed they will be closer and protect you.

It has to do with your scent – not to mention that you wouldn’t leave clean clothes on the floor- I’m sure they’d love those too!!

It may be that those two things are softer to sleep on than their own bed?!!!

    Best of luck!

Because they want to be around you or at least your scent….doggies love their owners so much they always want to be around you or your smell

    Your scent is correct.

But be sure to remember at least the dog accepts the dirty clothes the cat wants to dirty the clean clothes.

Not only does it have to do with your smell, but it’s also the same concept of people sleeping under covers where it’s nice and warm.

That was a good question. My little dogs love to sleep in my laundry basket of clean clothes, especially when they first come out of the dryer.
